BPP MINI PLAY WINNERS!
Fm. Chad Rabivoniwitz--This year’s MiniPlay contest brought in a gigantic number of submissions from across Bloomington. By gigantic we mean that there are stacks and stacks of student-written plays here but we’ve been so busy reading that we haven’t had time to count out an exact number! But thankfully, it was a huge success and the talent from the submitted scripts was incredible.
So without further ado, here are the winners of BPP’s MiniPlay Contest:
HIGH SCHOOL
1st Place ($50 Prize) Airport Security Shenanigans by Elizabeth Anderson, Bloomington South, Ms. Rademacher
2nd Place – You Really Thrill Me, Really by Hazel James, Home School
3rd Place – Goats for Goats by Devin May, Bloomington South, Ms. Rademacher

The Good Doctor, a comedy by Neil Simon, Opening December 2!
The Good Doctor is set in Russia during the 19th century and written in the style of Chekhovian comedy. It is composed of a series of scenes in which the only connecting thread is the character of the Writer originally played by Christopher Plummer, who is obviously Anton Chekhov. Simon uses several direct references to Chekhov in the play: The writer's opening monologue quotes Trigorn, the writer in The Seagull, directly and one of the scenes, "The Audition" centers around an untried actress auditioning for The Writer by playing all of Three Sisters. The show will open to BHSS and New Tech students Thursday, December 2 as an all day matinee. At this time, English classes will be invited to view a teaser of the show. The show opens to the public Friday, December 3 at 7:30pm.
This production is a black-box style, so seating is limited. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. You can buy tickets at the door 45 minutes before curtain.
